At LCN, we continue to strengthen our quality control capabilities with the installation of a new Gilardoni XE-S X-ray inspection cabinet for the non-destructive testing of aluminium components.

This new technology delivers sharper, more detailed images, making it easier to detect and assess porosity, cavities, internal cracks, inclusions and other discontinuities. In addition, automated inspection programmes and the five-axis manipulator provide greater repeatability and standardisation of inspections.

This investment also represents a significant step forward in safety. The fully shielded cabinet and its integrated safety systems ensure a high level of protection, while eliminating the specific radiological requirements associated with the previous equipment. The interlock system prevents X-ray generation unless the cabinet is properly closed.

These improvements also benefit our operators in their daily work, with easier loading and unloading, a motorised door, an internal camera, and enhanced visibility and control throughout the entire inspection process.
